Gennie & Don — The Oasis at Lake Travis, Lake Travis, TX · photographed by Caity Colvard
"That rooftop at 7:30pm is the most ridiculous thing I've ever photographed. In the best way."
The Oasis is a sunset venue. Period. Time your ceremony to end 20-30 minutes before sunset and you'll get the most ridiculous backlit kiss and recessional. Tell your planner this is non-negotiable.
The bridal suite is photo gold. Build in 30 minutes of getting-ready coverage there — pink velvet sofa, "Je t'aime" sign, lake views through the window. It's a luxury editorial spread waiting to happen.
Wind on the cliff can be intense — bring secured hair pieces and prepare for veils to fly. Honestly, flying veil shots are some of the best from this venue. I'll work the wind, not fight it.
Most Oasis weddings run 6-8 hours, with the timeline built around sunset. Austin Classic (8 hrs) or ATX 2026-2027 (6 hrs) both work — depends on when guests arrive.
The Oasis has covered terraces and an indoor ballroom that handle weather. Ceremony moves indoors with lake views still visible — it's not a downgrade.
The lower terrace or near the bridal suite — both have better light than the windier ceremony deck. Plan 20 minutes after ceremony.
Start your ceremony so it ends 20-30 minutes before sunset. That means a 5pm ceremony in winter, 7pm in summer. We'll lock this to your wedding date's exact sunset time.
Yes — the bridal suite is iconic and worth the coverage time. Built-in natural light from the lake-facing windows.
